Modi Govt overlooks Stay to support AP's Polavaram - ABN

The Center has given green signal to Polavaram Project stop-work order extension. Union Environment Secretary C.K. Mishra has put his signature in the concerned file. Official confirmation in this regard will be announced within a day or two. Union Forest and Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan, who is on a foreign tour is likely to arrive Delhi on July 6th and the final report is likely to be announced after his observation. Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had written a letter to Union Forest and Environment Minister Harsh Vardhan seeking stoppage of Polavaram works. But, with the intervention of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu, they are expecting a positive response from the Centre shortly.
