Jana Sena Party leader, Pawan Kalyan visited Thummapala Sugar Factory yesterday, as a part of his tour of Visakhapatnam district. He spoke to the families of farmers, who contribute cane to the factory. While the factory owes Rs. 6 crs. to the farmers, uptill now Rs. 3 crs. have been paid, with Andhra Pradesh (AP) government intervention. The factory is apparently shut and workers are demanding salaries of several months. Pawan Kalyan criticised the government over the issue and said that if even half the amount spent on Dharma Poratam were spent on the factory, the problem would have been resolved.
