An Indian American engineer, Aruna Miller is contesting for a United States (US) Congress seat. If she wins in the election, she will be the second Indian American to be representative in an American law making body. Aruna was born as Katragadda Aruna in 1964, in Krishna district. She left to the states with her father in 1972, as he had to move there on work. She studied in the States. Her political journey began when she was appointed to Maryland House of Delegates in 2011 and became a member of various committees.
