Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) questioned Pakistan over the issue of its envoy being denied entry into a Gurudwara in that country. Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner to India was summoned and a strong protest was lodged. India also reminded Pakistan of the agreements between both the countries to allow each other's diplomats to visit religious shrines. Earlier, the High Commissioner, Ajay Bisaria was denied permission to visit the Gurudwara, where some 300 pilgrims from India were visiting. He said that he was not allowed to carry out his diplomatic duties.
