Warangal NIT students draw petrol from corn cob - NTv

Students of Bio-technology department of Warangal National Institutue of Technology (NIT) have come up with a cheap, environment-friendly alternative for petrol. Their innovative technique of making petrol from corn cobs is getting noticed. The pulp of used corn cobs is extracted and ethonol is prepared from the sugars. Ethanol is a simple alcohol, that could replace fuel. It is cheap and also does not pollute. Maize farmers could earn additional income. The students have also built a devise to extract the pulp from corn cobs.
