There are a number of advantages of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launching the 'Sampark for Samarthan' (Contact for Support) programme. Launched by party president Amit Shah on May 29th to mark four years of the Narendra Modi government, the exercise has been initiated with the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in mind. Shah will personally contact at least 50 people as part of the programme. On the first day, he met former Army chief Dalbir Singh Suhag. The BJP president has also met former cricketer Kapil Dev, former Lok Sabha secretary general Subhash C Kashyap and yog guru Baba Ramdev. He will also meet Uddhav Thackeray, the chief of BJP's estranged alliance partner Shiv Sena in Mumbai tomorrow.
