Ravindra Kaushik was born in Jalandhar, Punjab in 1952 and joined as an intelligence official in the Research Analysis Wing ‘RAW’. When no one dared to go to Pakistan as an undercover, Ravindra had volunteered. He changed his name to Ahmed Shakeer and learned Urdu and changed his religion. He took admission into LLB course in the Karachi University, Pakistan. Later, he had joined in the Pakistani army as a high-ranking official. Kaushik passed on vital information to India from 1975 to 1983. He was caught by Pakistani army as another captured Indian spy blew his cover.
