Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi unveiled the plaque marking the immersion site of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi's ashes at Clifford Pier. He was accompanied with former Singaporean premier and Emeritus Senior Minister (ESM) Goh Chok Tong. Earlier, a group of singers rendered the famous song, Vishnava Jan Tho Tene Kahiye, which is the favourite of the Mahatma. The PM's visit was aimed at enhancing India's relations with All South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries. An orchid was named after Modi on the occasion.
