Priest attacked for 'not allowing President in temple'

A priest of the famous Brahma temple, at Pushkar in Uttar Pradesh (UP) was attacked by a knife-weilding assailant, for allegedly not allowing President Ram Nath Kovind into the sanctum sactorum of the temple. The man rushed into the temple and attacked the priest, slashing his neck and cutting his hand. The injured priest was rushed to the hospital, after a narrow escape from this bid on his life. The man was later held by the police and questioned. He replied that he saw Ram Nath Kovind's wife worshipping at the foot of the temple, and assumed that the President was not allowed inside.
