Hyderabad, Vizag on alert for Nipah virus
Hyderabad is on high alert for Nipah virus, that is sending shivers down the back of even doctors in Kerala. At least two persons in Hyderabad are suspected to have the virus and their blood samples have been sent to Pune for testing. However, Director of Medical Health, Dr. Ramesh Reddy said that no case of Nipah virus has been detected in the city. He assured that they were taking precautionary measures, as one of the two suspects had come back from Kerala with fever and another was under treatment for encephalitis. He said that they have been isolated and the test reports will come in the evening. High alert has been announced for Nipah in Vizag also.
