Do diamonds break when hit with coins? - Tv9

The alleged auction of a pink diamond at Geneva, which former chief priest at Tirumala, Ramana Deekshitulu has claimed to be a part of the temple treasury, has raised a controversy regarding the safety of the jewels. A prominent gemologist in Hyderabad has claimed that it is not easy to break a diamond, that too of the size quoted by the chief priest, with coins. It might chip off slightly but cannot break into pieces. Moreover, the one auctioned at Geneva appears to be from South African mines, he revealed.
