Sat, May 12, 2018, 08:32 AM
Voters in Karnataka are exercising their franchise in 58,000 polling stations across the state on Saturday. Elections are being held for 222 out of 224 Assembly segments. The Election Commission postponed elections to RR Nagar and Jayanagar Assembly constituencies. The BJP wants to win Karnataka as it wants to expand its base in the south. Interestingly, no incumbent government has been re-elected in Karnataka since 1985. Voting which began at 7 am will go on till 6 pm. Tight security is in place for smooth conduct of polls.
