In a fresh twist to the Mecca Masjid blast verdict, the judge who acquitted all accused, Ravinder Reddy, was directed to join duties immediately. As soon as he prounced the verdict, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) special court judge resigned and went on a 15-day leave. It was rumoured that he suffered intense pressure from outside, in the case. However, High Court (HC) chief justice dismissed Ravinder Reddy's resignation and directed him to return to his duties, which he did promptly. His leave also was cancelled.
