Facebook: Data leak hits 87 million users

Thu, Apr 05, 2018, 09:25 AM
Social media giant Facebook says data on as many as 87 million users was improperly shared with British political consultancy Cambridge Analytica. This is far greater than the 50 million previously estimated by a whistleblower Christopher Wylie. During a press conference, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has alleged that malicious actors had been abusing the feature that allows users search one another by typing in email addresses or mobile numbers into Facebook search option. He added that the Facebook had blocked the search facility.
