Remains of a Megalithic civilisation that existed in 2000 BC were found in two villages, while digging for Polavaram Project. Agriculture implements, arrow heads used for hunting and domestic utility articles were found in the site, in both East and West Godavari districts. Pots made of red and black clay and ornaments like beaded chains were found. The articles have been sent to testing labs in Pune and in South Korea for examination and for marking the dates. Megalithic findings show that these early civilisations were tribals and are descendants of early man.
