Supreme Court (SC) quashed the petition of Syed Hayatuddin and others, filed against the construction of Kaleswaram irrigation project by Telangana government. Reacting harshly, the SC said that the petition was unnecessary. Minister Harish Rao hailed the Supreme judgement. He said that the Telangana government wanted a 'green' state, without farmers suicides. But the Congress had tried to stall its efforts through such 'useless' petitions. The National Green Tribunal (NGT) had stalled the project several times, but Telangana approached SC and the issue is now resolved.
