Nara Brahmani: Indian women making significant contribution to GDP

Nara Brahmani has participated in a workshop on the theme ‘Women Entrepreneurship and Boardroom Diversity’ in Visakhapatnam. Addressing the delegates, Brahmani stated women’s participation is vital for the growth of the Indian economy. She said India has a legacy of producing strong women leaders. According to the International Monetary Fund, raising women labour participation to that of men can contribute significantly towards the growth of the GDP, Brahmani quoted. She mentioned women's contribution in the GDP in India is 27 per cent while in Japan, it is only 9 per cent.
