The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes U Yedukondalu red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 23.02 lakh from a Malaysian company at Office of the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes in Vijayawada on Friday. Yedukondalu is serving as head of the State Tax Enforcement wing. The Malaysian firm ITD Cementation India has paid Yedukondalu bribe to get an input tax credit refund of Rs 4.67 crore from the government. ACB Director-General R P Thakur said case was filed against Yedukondalu and construction firm for offering bribe.
