Immigration status: International flights to operate from Vijayawada airport soon - ABN

The Centre issued a notification granting immigration status to Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada. Till now, domestic planes have been operating from the airport. International flights can land at Gannavaram Airport with the immigration status. The state government officials brought to the notice of Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu about immigration status. He immediately spoke to Home Secretary Rajeev. The Home Ministry appointed a committee to study the feasibility of granting immigration status. The Home Ministry expressed satisfaction over the report submitted about facilities and technical aspects at Gannavaram Airport.
