Chandrababu described the journey of the Kapus, through various Central and State governments, since the time of British. As a part of his speech, to explain the government stand on reservations to Kapus, Chandrababu said that four sects of Kapus, i.e., Telaga, Ontari, Balija and Kapus, were included in the list of communities for reservations, during the British rule. However, various governments that came later, neglected the four communities, despite appointing commissions and preparing Bills. The courts too struck off many times, Bills regarding reservations to Kapus. It is the sole purpose of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to see that the Kapu community has equal opportunity like other BCs, he said.
