Opposition parties and farmers in Medak and Sangareddy districts are opposing diversion of water from Singur reservoir to Sriram Sagar Project. For the first time, the state government is diverting 15 TMC water from Singur to Sriram Sagar Project. They are demanding that the government should utilise the water for drinking and irrigation needs of Medak and Sangareddy districts. The total capacity of Singur is 29 TMC in which 7 TMC is needed to maintain dead storage level. Congress leader Jagga Reddy criticised the TRS govt for diverting 15 TMC from Singur to Sriram Sagar project.
