The Rajasthan government brought a new ordinance to protect present and former public servants and judges from the probe. As per the ordinance, investigating agencies should not take up probe against any public servant without permission. Even Chief Minister, Ministers and MLAs are under the definition of public servant. The ordinance also bans newspapers and TV news channels from publishing and telecasting news against public servants. There is a widespread criticism from social activists and people’s organisations against the BJP-led state government.
