In the wake of heavy inflows from Krishna and Thungabhadra rivers this year, water level in Srisailam has reached it's full capacity of 400 tmc, officials said. As such, water is available for irrigation and drinking water purposes, in Rayalaseema and surrounding areas, in abundance, they added. This is the first time, from the past four years, that the water level has reached its full capacity. Heavy rains in the catchment areas during this monsoon and as well as in the upper reaches of Krishna and floods in Karnataka, have all contributed to the inflows in to Srisailam dam.
