Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar has resigned from his post. The Legal officer has sent his resignation letter to the Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s office. According to the reports, he tendered his resignation citing personal grounds. At a time when his name is under consideration to be appointed as the judge of Supreme Court, his resignation has shocked the political circle. The resignation of Solicitor General comes months after Mukul Rohatgi resigned as the Attorney General of India. Ranjit Kumar was appointed the Solicitor General (SG) of India in June 2014.
