Water levels rise in Nagarjunsagar Project; inflows from Srisailam Dam - NTv

Officials have lifted six gates of Srisailam Dam, and are released over 2.5 lakh cusecs of water, to Nagarjunsagar, making the water levels in the project to rise dramatically. While the Srisailam Dam is brimming with water, their levels have risen to 540 ft. The full capacity of the project is 580 ft. Farmers are joyous over the rise in water levels, that too after three years. This will ensure irrigation and drinking water supply to Nalgonda and Hyderabad city. Meanwhile, heavy rains in the upper reaches and catchment areas of Prakasam Barrage, water levels there have risen.
