In a single day, over two lakh cusecs of water has reached Srisailam project, making the water levels in the dam to rise drastically. As such, officials are generating power continuously from 13 units. Water is reaching Srisailam project from Krishna, Thungabhadra and Hundri Neva rivers, which are flooded due to heavy rains. The reservoir at Sunkesala and and the Kurnool Kadapa Canal, are filled up to capacity. Tomorrow the project officials will meet to decide if it is necessary to lift the gates and if so when to do it.
