Tirumala temple has become a hub of controversies involving priests of the highest order. Chief Priest Ramana Deekshitulu began a fresh row, by taking his son, Venkatappa Deekshitulu and his grandson, in to the temple sanctum sanctorum, without official orders. Earlier, Venkatappa was issued notices for absenting himself from duties for two years. The issue took an ugly turn, when the chief priest led his son in to the temple, without replying to the notices first. Ramana Deekshitulu also offended an appointed priest, Venugolapa Swamy, while tying a silk cloth to the deity, in the presence of Chandrababu.
