IRCTC had asked all the banks earlier to share with it half the convenience fee earned on customer transactions on the website. The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) was the mediator between the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and banks. But there were no positive developments. With this IRCTC has barred several banks from using its payment gateway for debit card transactions as they refused to share a portion of the convenience fee. It has come to known that IRCTC website has allowed card payments only for the Indian Overseas Bank, Canara Bank, United Bank of India, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank.
