Water level in Srisailam project is gradually rising, in the wake of inflows from Jurala and Sunkesula projects. River Krishna that was dry all these years, seemed to have overflowing, in the wake of heavy rains and floods in upper regions. The river is getting inflows from Karnataka as well. As such, Jurala and Sunkesula projects, in Mahabubnagar and Kurnool districts, respectively, have reached their capacity. The officials have opened the gates, to let out excess water in to Srisailam project.
