For the second time this month, North Korea has launched a ballistic missile across Japan. The missile reportedly passed through Japan’s airspace near Hokkaido, triggering a public alert. It is believed to have fallen in the Pacific Ocean some 2,000 km east of the island. It has prompted an emergency UN Security Council meeting, to be held later on Friday. The latest launch comes a day after North Korea threatened to sink Japan with nuclear weapons. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says North Korea is now a global threat.
