Stand off ends at Doklam; China confirms mutual troops withdrawal

Mon, Aug 28, 2017, 04:13 PM
The over two-month stand off between Indian and Chinese troops, at Doklam, in Sikkim, came to an end, even as China confirmed about the mutual withdrawal of the troops of both the countries. This is being seen as a big diplomatic win for India, even though China said that the Indian troops withdrew first. China has decided to step back, owing to the upcoming BRICS summit, which will be attended by Prime Minister Modi. Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa (BRICS) Summit, 2017 will be held at Xiamen, in China, between September 3rd and 5th.
