The Reserve Bank on Friday issued new Rs 200 and Rs 50 denomination bank notes. These notes are printed with Mahatma Gandhi (New) series, bearing the signature of RBI Governor Urjit Patel. People were seen in a queue to withdraw new notes in the denominations of Rs.50 & Rs.200 from the Reserve Bank of India in Delhi. According to the reports, for few days, the new Rs 200 notes will be circulated by select RBI offices, and some specified banks and later it will reach other banks as well. With the provision of such new denomination, it would surely facilitate exchange, particularly for the common man who has been struggling with the denominations of higher notes. It is hoped that the denomination of Rs 200 will make the present currency system more efficient.
