Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar slammed the government for not completing Polavaram Project with in time and questioned the government why they were handed over it to the central government. He said he never opposed construction of Pattiseema irrigation project. Vundavalli further said that instead of allocating Rs 2,000 crore to Pattiseema and Rs 2,400 crore to Purushottam Patnam, why don't the government spend those 4,500 crore on Polavaram, with out intervention of the Union Government. He recalled that Polavaram works were progressed during the tenure of late Chief Minister YS Rajashekar Reddy.
