Old currency exchange racket busted in Rajahmundry; Rs. 1.17 cr. seized - NTv

Police have busted an old currency exchange racket, in Rajamahendravaram, and seized old notes of 500 and 1,000 denomination, worth Rs. 1.17 cr. from the culprits. At least 10 members of the gang have been arrested. The gang was involved in collecting the old notes from people, promising to exchange them, for some commission. A Reserve Bank of India (RBI) counter is still open in Delhi, to exchange the notes, for the use of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) up till August 17th. The gang members were taking advantage of this.
