10 die as RTC bus collides with lorry near Thanjavur

In a ghastly road accident, ten persons were killed and 20 others were injured when an RTC bus collided with a lorry near Vallam bridge in Thanjavur district in the early hours of Saturday. The injured were rushed to the nearby government hospital. The Tamil Nadu government bus carrying 60 passengers was heading to Kumbakonam from Thiruppur when the accident took place. Rash driving is said to be the reason for the accident. The District Collector and SP supervised the rescued operations.
