ISIS defeated in Mosul after three years
The Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has declared the city of Mosul fully liberated from Islamic State, after the largest urban battle in modern history ended in defeat for the jihadists. The US-backed Iraqi army won the battle for Mosul on Sunday, ousting the Islamic State from the city it seized three years ago. The Iraqi forces launched their offensive to retake Mosul nine months ago. Lt General (9th division) Qassim Nazar said that small section of ISIS militants is still resisting.
