The situation in Baduria, of Basirhat in North 24 Parganas of West Bengal (WB) is still tense, as protester blocked roads and police broke tear gas shells. Riot broke out last week over an objectionable Facebook post. The protesters vandalised shops and homes, triggering retaliatory attacks. Over 500 para military forces were deployed to the area yesterday. But they failed to control the situation. Meanwhile, WB Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee is furious with Governor Tripati and called him BJP agent. Tripati retorted that Mamata is trying to black mail him. Union Minister Rajnath Singh, urged the two to come together and bring the situation under control.
