After five years, a city court in Hyderabad today sentenced four persons to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment in connection with an attack on Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, the younger brother of AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi. The court after finding them guilty on charges of attempt to murder and other offenses under IPC sections and Arms Act sentenced them to varied terms of imprisonment besides imposing a total fine of Rs 10,000 under different sections on each of them. Mohammed Pahalwan and ten others were acquitted of all the charges against them in the case.
