The one and perhaps the only time that late director Dasari Narayana Rao was insulted, was at the start of his film career. He had recalled this incident among close ones recently. He told them that when he first went to Madras to act in a film, the makeup man called him names. At he end he donned a wig of a pundit on his head. Dasari was aghast as he had been called to play the role of a main comedian. The make up man told him that the role was given to somebody else and he was the assistant. Dasari quietly got in to the role, as he did not want to lose the very first opportunity.
