An Afghan-American woman pilot broke barriers with solo world flight. A 29-year-old Afghan-American pilot is embarking on a possibly record-breaking flight around the world. Shaesta Waiz started at Florida and plans to make 34 stops including those in Europe, Egypt, India, Thailand and Australia. Her trip will take 90 days. In total, she will be covering 25,800 km. Waiz says she hopes her journey will inspire girls to love aviation as much as she does. She is hopeful of people will appreciate Afghani woman going around the world.
