Trading has come to a halt in Guntur market yard, due to a fight between labourers. However, Market Committee chairman, Mannava Subbarao, said that today, trade is going on very slowly, because holidays were declared for the yard, since yesterday. But late in the night, the holidays were lifted and the market yard is working as usual, he said. Dismissing any disputes with labourers, he said that farmers, who are in a holiday mood, have not arrived yet. The labourers are unable to bear the hot sun, but because of the Centre's directions that Mirchi should be bought, the government has kept the market yard open, he said.
