Minister Jupally Krishna Rao warned farmers against using China powder and carbide to ripen mangoes. At least 90 licenses of traders were cancelled because of the use of carbide in ripening the fruits. As such, farmers who had come to Gaddiannaram market yard with their produce, were stopped by traders from entering. A verbal duel ensued, leading to traffic jam in the area. Jupally, who spoke to the traders and farmers representatives, said that at any cost use of carbide or china powder for ripening fruits will not be allowed.
