Crores of rupees were spent and liquor flowed in the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh (UP) Assembly elections, it is revealed. Election Commission (EC) had directed the parties to spend just Rs. 25 lakh each on campaigning. But it is noticed that this was not the case. All parties, including BJP has spent crores of rupees and supplied liquor endlessly during the month long campaigning, it is learnt. At least one third of the people had voted after taking money and liquor, it is said. Not just UP, but the same story was seen in Uttarakhand, Punjab and Goa, it is said.
