RBI declares 'New Rs 100 in circulation soon'. The Reserve Bank will issue Rs 100 denomination bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi series of 2005. In a notification RBI said that the new notes will be with both the number panels bearing the signature of RBI Governor, Urjit Patel. The year of printing also will be there on the other side of the note. RBI Governor Urhit Patel says that the new notes resembles the 2005 series in all respects. "All the bank notes in the denomination of Rs 100 issued by the bank in the past are continued to be the legal tender", adds RBI.
