Union budget 2017-18 that was presented today by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, has made pan masalas and tobacco products like cigarettes dearer. The tax on pan masalas that was six per cent earlier, is now nine per cent. Whereas prices of vegetables and fruits will come down. The budget favours the poor and middle classes. As such, electronic goods like TVs, set top boxes and mobiles have become cheaper. But silver, gold etc, will be costlier. Paper rolls, bundles etc, will be dearer, along with cashew and hardware.
