Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan met farmers who have lost their lands in the name of Polavaram project. He heard out the farmers, who put forth their grievances. Later, he said that the farmers are agitated as they did not get fair compensation. Some had said that their lands were forcibly taken away. The farmers wanted Pawan to visit their villages and take stock of matters. To this, Pawan said that he would first discuss with Andhra Pradesh (AP) government, as to the pros and cons of the issue. He was not against development, he said and added that he wanted to know why the government was unable to pay the compensation as promised.
