Union minister for Finance, Arun Jaitley, addressed a press meet in Delhi, on Demonetisation report card. He revealed details on Double Taxation Treaty with Singapore. He said that the laws have been amended in a way that India stands to benefit through taxation on capital gains. He also announced that Switzerland is willing to give information regarding deposits in its banks, in 2019. The amended Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTTA) envisages that the capital gains liability will be shared by the two countries uptil 2019 and later the benefits will come only to India.
