The Opposition parties have expressed disappointment for not being raised and discussed any important issues in the Winter Session of Parliament. Irked by the Centre's move of not allowing them to speak in Parliament and handling the situation in an undemocratic manner, the opposition met President Pranab Mukherjee. The opposition party leaders under the leadership of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, met President and complained over the issue. They have brought the issue before the President stating that following demonetisation move, many people are suffering. Congress leader Kharge, addressing the meet, said that they met President and handed over a memorandum and made him know the happenings .He has alleged that PM Modi has not opened his mouth on demonetisation move, though he was in the Parliament. He also alleged that it is due to the undemocratic attitude of the Centre, the Parliament Session could not be run successfully from November 16 to December 16, 2016.
