AP Vigilance report on Rs 1,295 crore beach sand scam by Trimex - Tv9

The Trimex Sands Private Limited had obtained permission in February 4, 2004 for beach sand mining in an extent of 1390 acres in Vatsavalasa and Tonangi villages of Garla mandal in Srikakulam district. However, GO said that the Trimex should obtain revenue and environmental clearances to go ahead with beach sand mining. Without obtained clearances, the Trimex went ahead with beach sand mining and even extracted minerals in another 387.72 acres which belongs to farmers. The AP Vigilance and Enforcement report found Trimex had earned Rs 1,295 crore illegally and recommended action against 7 officials.
