Five persons are reported dead and at least a hundred of them are injured, due to earthquake measuring 6.8 on richter scale in Northeast India. National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) personnel have been deployed to the affected areas. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that he had contacted the Chief Ministers of Assam and Tripura and is being informed of the situation. Communications are cut off from Manipur, which is worst affected.
